Writing is hard for many reasons, this barely scratches the surface...
+ If you are an introvert, you have share your work with others, sometimes complete strangers.
+ If you are an extrovert, you have to sit alone at the computer with out talking to any one else, sometimes for hours.
+ You have sit at a computer even when the ideas are not flowing and ignore everything else that suddenly seems extremely important (ex. The kitchen floor that suddenly needs mopping, because it's been months)
+ "You live in fear that the ideas might pack up and leave in the middle of the night" (author Hillary Manton Lodge, she inspired the cartoon I drew above)
+ You have to make the main character likable. Everything has to happen to this character, and if the first time they open their mouth is to complain about the trouble you caused them, they come off as whiny.
+ Sometimes you get stuck and really can't write any more...
