Easy Tulle Under Skirt
- This skirt is easy to make,
- But It's a quick fix, make and wear that evening, type project,
- the basic how to is stolen from toilet paper wedding dresses I've constructed over the years.
- Oh, wedding showers ;)
- Measurement from your waist to the floor
- A large amount tulle (I was given a bolt of it from a good friend)
- The exact amount will depend on your height, and how full you want the skirt to be
- A general rule of thumb would be to take the measurement from step 1 and times it by 20
- Ribbon or string
- Elastic (a little more than enough to go comfortably around your waist)
- A threaded needle (for a small amount of sewing)
- A place to tie your ribbon or rope between two points, just above the height of the measurement from step 1.
- Sharp scissors
- Measure from your waist to the floor
- Tie ribbon\string between two points higher than your waist measurement with a bow
- Wind tulle around string, so it hangs just above the floor
- Keep going till your out of tulle or have achieved fullness wanted
- It should all be one piece at this point
- Find the loose corners of your tulle
- a. There should be four
- b. Fold them up a little, and sew them to the skirt (so that the it does not unwind, and they do not drag on the floor.
- Measure elastic around your own waste. Decide on the exact fit you are looking for (make sure it stretches over your hips). Plus a couple of inches for tying.
- Slide elastic under tulle, next to the ribbon.
- Tie a knot.
- Undo ribbon bow
- Fluff skirt
- If you are feeling ambitious you can sew the tulle to the elastic band,
- And if you do that slice open the folded layers of tulle at the bottom
- For all intensive purposes you are done.
- A great underskirt for the graduation gown ball gown
